News on HS2 in Staffs

Early works for HS2 are carried out by a joint venture between Laing O’Rourke and Murphy & Sons known as LM.

From early February 2020, for a period of 8 months, LM will start creating a new wildlife habitat on land off Rookery Lane, located to the west of Hints Village.

This work includes the building of a bat house and the planting of new woodland. These works will form part of a 'green corridor' of habitats, woodlands and community spaces alongside the railway.

Vehicle access to the site will be along Rock Hill. LM will only use larger vehicles for the delivery of machinery, equipment and materials required for the creation of the new wildlife habitat.

A traffic management system will be in place on Rock Hill to ensure the safety of road users. There will also be occasional shared use of Hints 5, public right of way.
