News on HS2 in Staffs

Early works for HS2 are carried out by a joint venture between Laing O’Rourke and Murphy & Sons known as LM.

LM will be carrying out works on the Southbound A38 in the Streethay area on three Saturdays in April. The three dates are:

Saturday 4th April

Saturday 18th April

Saturday 25th April

Working hours will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.

We have recently constructed an access road connection to take vehicles working on the HS2 project off the Southbound A38 into a compound that is being created as part of the construction of the railway.

This new work in April will involve remedial works and installation of signage to the access road. The works notification can be viewed here notification .

Balfour Beatty Vinci (BBV) is working on behalf of HS2 Ltd to build the new railway in your area. To support the building of the railway, we need to construct a number of compounds along the route, including a main site compound at Cappers Lane.

A compound is an area of land which will be used as a base for staff to work from and include areas to store and transport soils and prepare the materials we will require for construction.

Work will start in late March / early April 2020 and it will take up to 8 months to complete the compound. our core working hours will be Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm (excluding bank holidays) and from 8:00 am to 13:00 pm on Saturdays.
